About Louisiana

Louisiana’s rich diversity came from its long history of settlers. Mardi Gras is a raucous holiday celebrated in all of Louisiana, including the city of New Orleans.   In the final week, many events occur throughout New Orleans and surrounding communities, including parades and balls (some of them masquerade balls).

Cajun & Creole Cuisine

You have heard of Cajun and Creole cuisine, and it all started here in Louisiana.  The food in the “Big Easy” is steeped in historical cultures from the French, Africans, and Spanish.  From gumbo, jambalaya, chicken fricassee to crawfish entoffee, you will find a world of flavors in this vibrant state.
